What we use your personal information for

 

Registering for the receipt of a Cairn publication and sending you other content

When you register to receive a Cairn publication, we will send you a link to your email address from which you can directly download the publication.

Once we have sent you the publication, we may also send you:

• other content we believe will be of interest to you as someone working in your sector;
• information and invitations to events we are hosting;
• requests to participate in surveys.

If you no longer want us to send you content or contact you, just let us know by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by emailing privacy@cairnhomes.com.

 

Events

When you attend an event we are hosting, we ask for your personal information to administer your attendance at the event and follow up with you after the event.

Our legal obligations and rights

We will use your personal information for the management and enforcement or protection of our legal obligations and rights.

 

Administration, quality, and training

So we can manage and administer our business (including in accordance with legal or other obligations we must meet), and our relationship with you, we will use your personal information. It will also be used in connection with the maintenance of our quality standards and the provision of internal training.

 

Analytics and research

Your personal information is also used by us to help us plan for the future and support the development and improvement of our business, including the homes we build. To do this we will use your personal information for internal analytics and research purposes.

 

Using your personal information lawfully

We only use your personal information when the law permits us to.

 

Sending you content and managing events

It is in our legitimate interest to use your personal information to communicate with you, send you content, send you surveys and administer your attendance at events.

 

Other uses

• We use your personal information when it is necessary to manage our legal obligations.
• The use of your personal information for administration, quality and training, analytics and research is, in each case, in our legitimate interest.

 

How long we keep your information

We will keep your information (name, email address) until you unsubscribe from our content. If you have attended an event, the details relating to your attendance will be retained for two years from the end of the year in which the event was held. If you have participated in a survey, any personal information included in the survey will be retained until we no longer have a requirement to retain the survey data.

 

Who else gets your personal information?

We only provide your information to third parties who provide services to us, such as:

• information technology and information services providers;
• professional advisers (like our law firm) and insurers.

These third parties can only use the personal information we share to provide their services to us. They cannot use your personal information for other purposes.

 

Security of personal information and where it is kept

We use strict procedures and security measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of your personal information. This includes using third party services that meet the highest international security and resilience standards. As far as possible, we keep your personal information in the European Union. However, in some instances our service providers may be based in a third country, in which case your personal information may be sent to that third country but always in accordance with data protection laws. Your rights

 

Asking us to stop sending you communications

If you want us to stop using your personal information to send you communications, you can do so by clicking on the unsubscribe link in our emails, or by emailing privacy@cairnhomes.com.

The use of your personal information for the relevant purpose will stop immediately and we will delete your personal information for this purpose at the same time.

 

Accessing, deleting and rectifying your personal information

You have the right in to ask us to:

 

• access your personal information;
• delete your personal information; or
• rectify any personal information we hold that is incorrect.

 

If you want to exercise these rights, please let us know in writing (privacy@cairnhomes.com). You will need to provide information to verify and complete your request. Subject to any restrictions on these rights, we will complete your request within thirty days.

 

Objecting to processing

Where we process your personal information for purposes we consider to be in our legitimate interest, you have the right to object to this processing. You may exercise this right by writing by emailing privacy@cairnhomes.com.

 

Lodging a complaint

You can at any time complain about our processing of your personal information with your local data protection authority:
